Each year Self–Realization Fellowship monks and nuns visit cities around the world to conduct lecture tours, member programs, and regional retreats.

Lecture tours offer an introduction for newcomers to the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, and in–depth guidance in the SRF meditation techniques for Lessons students. Member programs and retreats include classes on the SRF meditation techniques and provide opportunities for group meditation and satsanga (informal talks). All the programs also cover other important aspects of Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings, including:

The importance of meditation in daily life
How to live a more harmonious life
Learning to balance inner needs with outer demands
Building relationships on a spiritual foundation
Making sense of life’s inequities
Yoga principles of health and healing
Understanding death and life–after–death
Karma and reincarnation
Parallels between the ancient yoga science and the discoveries of modern science
The powerful effects of silence and seclusion
How each of us can help to create a more compassionate and peaceful world
